“‘Typical UMC Family’ Serves at General Conference”

I’ve never said “the Kenastons are a typical UMC family”… Having two pastors in your immediate family automatically means you’re not a “typical” church-goer. – Rachel, via e-mail

That said, we were very pleased to have a story published about us in this morning’s UM-Insight!  The article about the rest of the family was started after Cynthia Astle both read and asked to re-publish my sermon from Sunday morning.  Thanks for the link love!

The Kenaston Family from West Virginia — parents Joe and Judi, plus offspring Diane, Rachel and Connor — are active in The United Methodist Church. Judi is a lay delegate to General Conference, while Joe is a page and Diane an official monitor.

The Kenastons say they’re a typical United Methodist family. However, not every typical United Methodist family will converge at the 2012 General Conference in as many capacities as will these folks from beautiful West Virginia….
